Clock Mechanism

Firstly, do not underestimate the size of this machine! The frame is 16 feet long, and no person standing on the floor will have their head above the level of the large gearwheels on the right.

It is difficult to discern much detail. However, the large winding barrel of the chiming train may be seen towards the right. Further right notice the handle which would have been used to hand wind the chiming train (partly obscuring the word 'DENISON' on the inscription), and further right again the cables rising up to the belfry which operate the hammers of the quarter chiming bells.
